1. What cookies and browser storage are
Cookies are small text records placed on a device when a website is visited. Similar technologies include local storage, which allows a browser to retain a small value for a site. They can support essential choices, remember features and provide aggregated usage information. This policy explains the categories browsebarnstorypuls.online may use and how you can control them.
2. Our approach to consent
Essential storage operates because it is necessary to remember the privacy choice you request and keep the site functioning. Optional analytics and functional technologies require consent where applicable. Selecting “Accept All” permits optional categories; selecting “Reject Non-Essential” limits storage to essential purposes. Selecting “Preferences” records a preferences-only choice. We do not currently use advertising cookies or build behavioural advertising profiles.
3. Cookie and storage categories
| Category | Example name | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | browsebarn_cookie_choice | Stores accept, reject or preferences so the banner does not reappear on every page. | Until browser storage is cleared |
| Essential | Security or hosting logs | Helps deliver pages, detect malicious traffic and diagnose technical errors. Usually processed server-side. | Up to 90 days |
| Analytics | site_analytics | If enabled with consent, distinguishes visits in aggregated reports and helps us understand popular pages. | Up to 13 months |
| Functional | site_preferences | If enabled, remembers optional display or accessibility preferences selected by the visitor. | Up to 12 months |
The example names describe our intended categories. Technologies can change as the site develops. We will update this policy and seek consent before introducing non-essential uses where law requires it.
4. Third-party technologies
Our pages may load images or resources from an external hosting provider. A third party may receive technical connection data such as your IP address and user agent when your browser requests that resource. We do not permit those resources to place advertising cookies through our site. Links to external websites do not place their cookies until you follow the link; once there, the third party’s own policy applies.
5. Changing your choice
You can remove the saved choice by deleting site data for browsebarnstorypuls.online in your browser. After deletion, reload the website and the banner will appear again. Rejecting optional storage will not prevent access to editorial content. Some optional convenience features may not remember settings between visits.
6. Browser opt-out instructions
Most browsers allow you to inspect, delete or block cookies and local storage. Blocking all storage may cause preference banners to reappear because the site cannot remember your decision.
- Chrome: open Settings, choose Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies or Site settings, and select “See all site data and permissions”. Search for the domain and remove its data.
- Firefox: open Settings, choose Privacy & Security, then Cookies and Site Data. Use “Manage Data” to find and remove the domain.
- Safari: open Settings or Preferences, choose Privacy, then “Manage Website Data”. Find the domain and choose Remove.
- Microsoft Edge: open Settings, choose Cookies and site permissions, then “Manage and delete cookies and site data” and “See all cookies and site data”.
Browser menus may change between versions. Consult the provider’s official support documentation if the labels differ. Private-browsing modes generally remove local data after the private session closes.
7. Do Not Track and global signals
Browsers may send “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signals. Technical standards and legal requirements for these signals vary. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we honour applicable opt-out requirements. Optional technologies remain subject to the consent choice described above.
8. Updates and contact
We may revise this policy when storage practices, providers or legal requirements change. The updated date will appear at the top. Questions about cookies or consent may be sent to [email protected]. Further information about personal-data handling appears in our privacy policy.
