1. Who we are

browsebarnstorypuls Media Ltd (“we”, “us” or “our”) operates browsebarnstorypuls.online. We are a company registered in England and Wales under company number 15820471, with a registered office at 86 Deansgate, Manchester M3 2ER, United Kingdom. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information when you browse our website or contact us.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you deliberately provide, including your name, email address, selected enquiry topic and message when you submit the contact form. We may also receive technical information such as browser type, device category, approximate location derived from an IP address, referring page, requested pages, timestamps and diagnostic logs. We do not intentionally request payment information, government identifiers or special-category personal data.

3. How and why we use data

We use contact information to answer enquiries, maintain correspondence and protect the site from abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating and securing the service or taking steps at your request before entering a contract. Where optional analytics are enabled, we rely on consent to understand aggregated site usage and improve navigation. You may withdraw consent through your browser storage controls or by contacting us.

4. Cookies and local storage

Essential browser storage records your cookie choice and supports requested features. Optional analytics or functional technologies will only be used where permitted by applicable law and your preference. Our current static site does not use advertising cookies. For categories, purposes and deletion guidance, read our cookie policy.

5. Processors and disclosure

We may use reputable hosting, email delivery, security and analytics providers acting as processors under written instructions. These providers may process limited technical or correspondence data to deliver their services. We may also disclose information when required by law, to establish or defend legal claims, during a corporate transaction, or to prevent fraud and security threats. We do not sell personal information for money or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

6. International transfers

Some processors may operate outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area. Where required, we use an approved transfer mechanism such as UK addenda, International Data Transfer Agreements, Standard Contractual Clauses or an applicable adequacy decision. We also assess contractual, organisational and technical safeguards.

7. Retention and security

Contact enquiries are normally retained for up to 24 months after the final communication, unless a longer period is required for legal claims, accounting or regulatory obligations. Routine server logs are generally retained for no more than 90 days. Cookie preference data remains in your browser until removed. We use access controls, software updates, backups and data minimisation, although no internet transmission or storage system is completely secure.

8. Your GDPR and UK GDPR rights

Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection to processing. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior lawful processing. You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or your local supervisory authority. Rights may be limited where exemptions or competing legal duties apply.

9. California privacy rights

California residents may request details of personal information collected, disclosed or sold; request correction or deletion; and receive equal service after exercising rights. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA. We will verify requests proportionately and may accept an authorised agent with evidence of authority.

10. Children and external links

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal data. Our articles may link to independent websites with their own policies. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.

11. Contact and DPO enquiries

For privacy questions or rights requests, contact our privacy lead and DPO contact at [email protected], or write to the registered address above marked “Data Protection”. We aim to respond within one month where GDPR applies and within the timeframe required by other applicable law.
